Meadow fescue is a very winter hardy species. Appearance and palatability are similar to perennial ryegrass, but has less summer headiness. Does well in cool moist conditions, but once established, also does well in heat. Recommended to be planted as part of a mixture. Good fit for organic farms because nitrogen requirement is not high.
