Healthy Crops
Healthy Crops: A New Agricultural Revolution by Francis Chaboussou
A reference book that calls for improving the health of our crops rather than using chemicals to eliminate pests and diseases. It is based on Chaboussou’s trophobiosis theory that healthy crops resist attack while chemical pesticides and fertilizers weaken plants, making them vulnerable to disease. In other words, a pest starves on a healthy plant. This book serves as a reminder that there are genuine alternatives to the chemical treadmill.
Francis Chaboussou was an agronomist, biologist, and researcher at the French National Institute of Agricultural Research in Bordeaux, France.
