Ryegrass - Italian

• A blend of tetraploid and diploid Italian ryegrasses • Premium, late-maturing blend • If seeded in the spring in northern Pennsylvania and farther north, makes excellent forage without heads • Overall less headiness in the summer

Ryegrass is the highest quality grass. It provides higher energy in a grazing or wet hay system because of its digestibility and sugars. Cows on a diet of ryegrass give more milk, stay in better body condition, and may even breed better. Ryegrass does not dry well for hay and does not perform well in hot or dry weather. It comes in different forms: annual, Italian, and perennial.
