Crimson Clover UT (50 lb bag)
Crimson Clover UT
• An annual clover • Good for hay, grazing, and green manure • Soil builder • Erosion prevention • Plant in August or early fall
It is recommended to use red clovers and white clovers mixed together for grazing. Red clovers are more drought tolerant and productive than white clovers, but white clovers have a higher quality. Red clovers are more tolerant of wet soils and have a lower pH than alfalfa. In trials at Penn State, the average yield of red clovers was a little higher than the average yield of the leafhopper-resistant alfalfas one year after seeding.
