Kentucky bluegrass is a shorter height sod-forming grass resulting in a smooth pasture. It spreads by rhizomes and can survive very short grazing. Establishment is slow, but persistence is excellent. Most of its forage production is in the spring and fall. Yield is comparatively low. Bluegrass seed is very fine and a little seed goes a long way.
